Project Design Technician

Galebreaker undertake Projects of varying complexity in both the agricultural and industrial business sectors.  The Project Design Technician will be responsible for carrying out bespoke design in adapting standard generic products to satisfy customer requirements and ensure the order process from initiation to completion runs efficiently for Agriculture, Commercial and Industrial projects

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Galebreaker Project Manager and/or Customer throughout project – asking for structural information for design or arranging dates for site survey, obtaining design approval, ensuring customer is happy with completed installation.
  • On site structural survey to ensure products will fit exactly (UK and Worldwide travel may be required in some cases)
  • Interpreting client structural drawings
  • Project detailed design – adaptation of existing designs and methodology
  • Generation of bespoke production drawings (for internal production and externally supplied components)
  • Loading project demands on internal management software
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to manufacture bespoke items
  • Creation of correct packing sequence for efficient installation
  • For Industrial Projects, creation of Job Packs for the Installation Technicians – inc. RAMs, Installation Instructions, Certificates.
  • Post installation being part of debriefs with installation teams and complete evaluation of job costing

  • Previous experience of 2D CAD is essential and 3D CAD is desirable, ideally Autodesk Autocad and Inventor software.
  • Experience with dealing and communicating (verbal and written) with clients is desirable
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a willingness to learn new IT skills as appropriate.
  • Good organisational skills to address situations as they arise
  • UK Driving License, Valid Passport for worldwide travel
