Fabric side curtains replace the need for out-dated fixed cladding materials such as space boarding or ventilated metal. Variable Ventilation Systems (VVS) side curtains are powered by VentLogic technology, making use of temperature, wind speed, wind direction and rain sensors to ensure that the climate within the building is constantly optimised. Galebreaker’s side curtains are available in different models, depending on factors such how sensitive to temperature your livestock are, height of the lower wall and whether bedding is blown into the building.
Curtains are available in a range of fabrics (such as mesh or fully waterproof solid material) in a variety of colours to suit your building or local planning conditions. Curtains can span a length of 140m, and a height of 5m (depending on the model chosen).

VVS Models
VVS R7 Rolling
Opens from the top, with the fabric rolling on to a tube at the bottom or middle (depending on the height of the opening), when combined with a high lower wall, this system is ideal for livestock which are sensitive to temperature variation such as pigs or youngstock. The curtain can span up to 140m in width and 5m in height.
For sites which need bird prevention, bird net can be fitted. This system can be fully automated with Galebreaker’s V40 or iSeries, system controllers.
VVS C5 Climbing
Opens from the bottom, with the fabric rolling on to a top or middle tube (depending on the opening height). The climbing system is ideal for livestock which need plenty of fresh air at animal level such as beef and dairy cattle. Ideally suited to buildings with an overhang to provide enhanced weather protection.
The curtain can be manufactured to 140m in length and 5m in height. All automated controllers can be integrated with the VVS Climbing system.
VVS D2 Drop
VVS Drop is the ideal system for farmers blowing bedding (chopped straw, sand, wood dust) in through the open side curtain. The system uses gravity to open the curtain and pleat at the bottom of the opening. The system is controlled by ropes, rather than steel tubes making this an economical choice. The maximum length for hand operated systems is 70m long and 3m high however, the maximum length increases to 140m when driven by a motor.
