Ferme des Lys Normands is an independent dairy farm in Normandy, France. They currently have 130 dairy cows.

The challenge

Mr Burel was constructing a new building for his cows which needed to be well ventilated for light and air, significantly reducing the risk of disease in his livestock. He also wanted the building to be weather-proofed, providing protection against wind and rain, and easily accessed.

The solution

In 2016, Mr Burel needed a range of products to protect and ventilate the new building. He contacted supplier and installation company FVP, which recommended several of Galebreaker’s systems. FVP fitted the building with a Light Ridge – specialised roof panels which are designed to allow the escape of warm stale air while, at the same time, improving light transmission into the building. The construction was also fitted with a VVS, a side curtain system completed with a weather station and bird net to protect livestock. Finally, four Agridoor Electric systems and six Rollerdoor Rapid Rails were installed, providing ease of access and contributing to excellent ventilation in the building.

The result

The systems were successfully installed five years ago. On one occasion, exceptional bad weather led to some damage which was swiftly fixed by FVP.

I would recommend Galebreaker’s products to others and FVP have always been on hand to assist when needed.”
