As Market Support Manager I manage the Team which delivers the support services to our customers this includes customer service, internal sales, project management and marketing. I enjoy the flexibility and variety in my role, and the Team of people I work with.

I am passionate about personal and professional development, and was proud to complete a Level 5 Diploma in People Management in October 2023. This achievement reflects the emphasis which Galebreaker puts on people development and continuous improvement. I am excited to be working on our People Strategy.

Having been a part of the Galebreaker family since September 2019, I can attest to the positive, supportive, and forward-thinking culture that defines our workplace. It’s a place where every team member is valued, and ideas are not only welcomed but encouraged.

During my spare time I love playing netball, running and walking, as well as being a volunteer Parish Councillor – basically I love to keep busy!

I’m an area sales manager working in the external sales team, I enjoy getting out and about to see customers and helping them overcome any problems they may have with ventilation and weather protection issues. I also enjoy working with and developing dealers through training and on-site farm visits. 

My first taste of agriculture was helping out and doing part-time work on a mixed farm in Shropshire, after leaving school I worked on this farm for a considerable time doing all aspects of farm work especially on the arable side, I then moved on to an arable farm in Gloucestershire before moving to Ross on Wye where I worked as a tractor / combine driver on a large farm near there. 

I then moved into sales selling Gas and Electric before moving to Ledbury Welding selling fuel tanks, from there I moved to Spaldings selling wearing parts and tools to farmers, I then worked for Gunn JCB selling tractors and loaders before I joined Galebreaker in June 2007. I think my years working in agriculture put me on a good footing for the role with Galebreaker.

I enjoy helping team members achieve their goals and helping others in any way I possibly can. Although Galebreaker has grown considerably since I joined them, it still has that friendly feel with directors being very approachable, you do feel part of a TEAM. 

Outside of work, I enjoy Music, Music and more music! I also enjoy sport, (Football and Rugby) I support Liverpool FC and enjoy banter with certain colleagues. I also enjoy being able to spend quality time with my wife Sara, My son  Dave and his wife Robyn and my Daughter Megan and her partner Jamie. I’m also partial to a bit of travelling, earlier this year I took my wife Sara on a trip of a lifetime cruising the Norwegian Fiords up into the Arctic circle. 

A particularly memorable experience while working at Galebreaker was the time I worked with my colleague Tim Dazely on screens for the new extension to the main stand at Anfield, (the home of Liverpool FC for those who do not know this). Great experience going in the new stand before the general public and supporters, we also walked on the roof which was amazing looking over the river Mersey. 

I am the assistant buyer and I like the urgency of the role, every day is very fast paced and different. I must balance between ensuring we have enough stock here to meet all customer’s needs and ensuring nothing is sat on the shelf for too long which involves a lot of analysis which I really enjoy. I also enjoy building relationships with our suppliers to ensure they prioritise orders from Galebreaker. 

My work background prior to this was in insurance claims, I worked with both caravan and holiday park owners and with the military (things from mobile phones all the way to priceless pieces of art). It prepared me to deal with a variety of people and being able to communicate with just about anybody, and it also helped me work in a fast-paced environment ensuring that the best outcome was reached for everybody involved, skills I use daily when speaking with our suppliers. 

My favourite thing about Galebreaker is the open dialogue between every member of staff – I truly believe that everyone in the business wants the best for our customers and goes above and beyond to make that happen. Everyone is approachable and everyone is looking to help. 

Outside of work, I am a very big reader! I targeted myself 52 books to read in 2023 and have surpassed that and am currently at 90 books complete. I also run the local town book club which currently has over 60 members. We have been meeting for over 2 years now with new members joining us every month! 

I am the EMEA Sales Representative for Power and Industrial Projects, responsible for technical sales for various applications all over EMEA. Every day is a school day, and every client has a different wish list we aim to provide answers and solutions too. I really enjoy working with our clients, finding solutions that can improve their plant performance, and increasing my understanding of the issues that they are facing. I also really enjoy working with the Galebreaker team, who provide relentless support and skills to find solutions to the challenges we face in our market.    

I’m trained as a Mechanical Engineer, after graduating I started working for an Air-Cooled Condenser OEM as an engineering draftsman. I moved through that business into Project Engineering, and then into technical Sales, which took me all over the world including India, China, Mainland Europe and the US. From there I moved into working with evaporative cooling systems. Initially, as Technical Sales Manager for large Field Erected cooling towers, then into proposals management for all types of evaporative cooling systems. I started working with Galebreaker over 10 years ago, where I utilised my background in both evaporative and dry cooling applications to develop solutions to a variety of environment-related issues.      

We are currently exploring the possibility of utilising the wind-protection screens as a vehicle to transfer moisture into the inlet airstream to lower the inlet air temperature and improve ACC performance during hot dry conditions. The possibility of combining our wind screens with other technology may make it possible to not only reduce the negative effects of wind but also reduce the influence of hot temperature on station output, increasing overall performance further.  

I started the company DHD Solutions Ltd 10 years ago with a colleague. DHD Solutions Ltd specialises in cold-end solutions for a whole range of industrial and power sectors. This business is very much aligned with the work that I do with Galebreaker, operating in the same business sectors with the same clients and the same types of equipment. This business has seen some challenging times including Brexit and Covid, but has continued to survive through these events, and is currently undertaking the largest project to date in Iceland, worth slightly less than £1M, along with several other projects including one in Sweden, and several in the UK. 

Working within Galebreaker feels like a family. Everyone in the team supports each other to achieve shared goals and visions and goes the extra mile to ensure that each member of the team is valued and encouraged too.

Outside of work, I am a 2nd degree black belt in TKD and a football coach for my sons under 12’s football team, as well as helping to coach my other sons under 10s team. 

What is your role in the Galebreaker team? 

My role is Cooling Specialist for North America, Industrial and HVAC Applications.

Can you share a bit about your background and how it has prepared you for your current position?

I have over 40 years of experience in the Cooling Tower Industry. My experience with cooling equipment ranges from owner operation to large sales opportunities.

What’s your favourite part of working within the Galebreaker team or company culture?

My favourite part of working with Galebreaker is the team and family concept. I love working with the folks from England.

What’s one accomplishment or milestone in your career that you’re especially proud of?

Currently, I am President & CEO of the Cooling Technology Institute.

Can you share a memorable experience or story from your time working with the team that you’d like to highlight?

When I first started to work with Galebreaker, my wife and I visited Ledbury and met the team and the culture.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests that people might not know about?

I am an avid golfer and outdoorsman.

I am the Ventilation Engineer overseeing the ventilation products of VVS and VentTube looking at all areas for continual improvements such as design, production, or installation. I am also a Certified Consultant with the Dairyland Initiative of Wisconsin University to design all our VentTubes and I offer advice to industry peers, vets or farmers on how to improve the ventilation of dairy and calf buildings. 

I studied Mechanical Engineering at college working for 2 companies prior to joining  Galebreaker in 2015. With a background in engineering and an interest in animals, this gave me the foundation for a role in Galebreaker.  

Outside of work I am a keen road cyclist being a member of 2 local clubs. I ride regularly throughout the year with friends and spend the summer months completing challenges we set ourselves. Previously we completed 200 miles in one day and the Flandrien Challenge, and particularly like cycling in the Alps. 

I am proud to have presented at the Youngstock Conference held at Harper Adams University in 2023. To get the opportunity to present in front of industry experts, farmers and students was a big step for the company in our quest to be recognised as experts in animal welfare. 

What is your role in the team, and what do you enjoy most about it?

As Project Manager I oversee all the UK Agricultural and Commercial customer orders where we are installing, servicing, or repairing our products.

The role can be massively varied and involves liaising with customers, suppliers & across multiple departments to ensure everything goes off without a hitch and most important of all, our customers are happy.

I really enjoy working within the projects team as we all work exceptionally hard and I will admit it can be stressful at times, but we always manage to keep a good sense of humour throughout.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests that people might not know about?

Pretty sure most know this, but I have 2.5 horses. Jelly and Ora who are both Andalusian mares and a little Shetland called Jack.

Jelly, I have owned since she was 2 and she is 14 this year. I hope to be out completing her in Dressage later this year. Ora, I bought as a yearling, and it is an exciting year as she has just turned 4, so I am just in the process of backing her (wish me luck!)

What’s one accomplishment or milestone in your career that you’re especially proud of?

I was very chuffed (and shocked!) to come 3rd in the Directors Achievement Awards 2023 after only being with Galebreaker for a year.

What’s a fun or surprising fact about you that your colleagues might find interesting?

In 2007 my horse was loaned to the Russian team for the World Para Dressage Championships, qualifier for the Beijing Para Olympics. I was lucky enough to be groom and warm-up rider. It was an amazing experience, certainly memorable for a couple of different reasons, one being that all routes to the venue flooded on the 2nd day and everybody had to stay over. There were talks of running out of food!

Like most businesses, Galebreaker has a number of IT systems that we use to manage the business, for sales, purchasing, pricing, finance, customer relations, product configuration reporting, and so on. My job is to help keep these systems running smoothly and to develop them further to help our departments with smooth and efficient running. My work can vary from writing code for our in-house apps, to configuring the systems, maintaining databases, and updating Excel spreadsheets. There is immense satisfaction in providing the “magic” to make things better for the end users.

I started my career in the RAF as a RADAR technician and have a degree in electronic systems engineering, later specialising in computer networks as an officer. When I left the RAF I joined a small IT company doing IT support, software development, training and consultancy. Later, I ran my own company along the same lines, and had Galebreaker as one of my customers, managing their servers, network and computers. That gave me a great insight into the people who work here, and when the opportunity arose to join Galebreaker I didn’t hesitate.

One of my current projects is to set up Power BI for all our reporting needs, pulling information from multiple systems into one reporting tool. This is fun because it involves data modelling, which is a lot of database and programming, and also report design which is all about presentation and the user experience.

One of the things I really like about Galebreaker is that it is still a family firm, even though it has now been going for forty years. There is a friendly atmosphere here, with everyone working towards the same goals. With a focus on animal welfare, I see that Galebreaker are not just finding a gap in a market to sell products, but are also improving conditions in farming as well as improving efficiency. At the same time, I find the management team here are caring and look after the staff.

Outside of work, I have a family of various offspring and animals, so life is never dull. I live in Wales, so we have numerous good walking areas within easy reach, and we have still got plenty of places to explore. I also support Nottingham Forest football club and have a season ticket for my second team Cardiff City, so winter weekends are spent moaning about sport.

I am the new Finance Director at Galebreaker. I have responsibility for the Finance, IT, and HR functions. I enjoy the diversity of the role and each day being different.

I started my career in a regional accountancy practice. I then went on to work in various industries for SME’s and multinationals while gaining my Chartered Certified qualification. I have helped previous companies realise their growth and change aspirations; with this experience I can assist Galebreaker with our growth vision.

The strategy piece is something I am particularly excited about. We are at a juncture where all the pieces of the strategy are being scoped out which will help us plan through to execution.

The people at Galebreaker are a great asset to the business, they have been very welcoming and friendly. They are also passionate about the product, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of the business.

I love spending time with my family and friends. I play golf when I can find the time. I also get up to Liverpool when I can to watch Everton. 

I am a Project Design Technician at Galebreaker. What I enjoy most about my role is the day to day of being part of a team and the satisfaction of being thorough, detailed, and organised.   

I come from a background in architecture, have worked on construction sites and have taken on all kinds of personal DIY projects, which has given me a good technical and practical knowledge base which is really handy for this role.  

Throughout my life, I’ve been very concerned about how animals raised for food production are treated in the world at large. I’m encouraged to be part of a company that is orienting more in the direction of animal welfare as a core operational value.  

Outside of work, people may not know that I have trained in several modalities of energy healing and have a deep interest in meditation and eastern philosophy. 

As a company we pride ourselves in our flexible product range, however this can, at times, be challenging in production. This is where I come in, I am the Continuous Improvement Engineer here at Galebreaker, I focus on tackling the challenges that bespoke manufacturing can bring, and driving efficiency in production; this covers everything from adjusting and improving processes and material flow, to ensuring our machines are running as efficiently and effectively as they can. I really enjoy my role, no two days are the same and every new day comes with a new exciting improvement opportunity.

I graduated from Harper Adams university during the summer 2023, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and after a fantastic time at Uni I decided to dive right into building my career. During my time at Uni I gained work experience fixing robots in a workshop and working as a process engineer at an assembly plant for a year, which I enjoyed; so when this opportunity came up at Galebreaker I was so intrigued and excited about the role and business that I just had to be part of it.

I am a very sociable person, so the positive vibe at Galebreaker really suits me. In my free time I like to see my friends and meet new people; I am also quite competitive, I enjoy tennis and competing my horse. As part of my role here I am always on the lookout for the newest solutions and processes in the industry which has led me to attend Expos and travel to Belgium and Germany. I am not really a home bird and I really love travelling so this really suits me; I lived in Italy up to the age of 17, and then moved over here for school and university, I have also travelled to parts of Africa and Europe solo and with friends.

I am the Accounts Assistant at Galebreaker Ltd.  What I enjoy most about my role is the interaction I have with various other departments within Galebreaker.

Working with various departments, within Galebreaker, I come across many different colleagues all of which are always respectful and helpful.

Working in the finance team brings daily issues with a need to understand the background of the issue to reach a satisfactory conclusion to the problem.

A fun fact about me is I used to play drums in the school rock band, a path I took as I was politely asked to leave the choir ….

I like that my job with Galebreaker keeps me very busy, I like the busy atmosphere.  

Recently we have changed some of the materials that we use in the Galebreaker products so they are much heavier. This has made working with them more difficult but I have been working with the operations team to design a new table to help with my work. I like the way we work together to solve challenges in production.  

Outside of work I love to watch horseracing, and I can be found attending events at Hereford and Cheltenham. 

The best thing about working at Galebreaker is the people. It’s a great team and we have a lot of banter.  

It can be quite challenging working on so many different machines. I run around a lot to keep everything working. You get used to being outside your comfort zone.

1. What is your role in the team, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I am a Market Support Administrator aiding Julius Kramer with Northern Europe Sales as well as UK.

2. Can you share a bit about your background and how it has prepared you for your current position?

I came to Galebreaker on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave. I enjoyed the role, and when the role became available permanently, I was offered the role and happily accepted.

4. What’s your favourite part of working within the Galebreaker team or company culture?

Although Galebreaker Ltd is a medium sized business, it is family owned and run, you do feel as if you’re part of a family.

5. Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests that people might not know about?

I love walking, cycling and photography, my husband is always saying “how many pictures of the “x” do you need?”

6. What’s one accomplishment or milestone in your career that you’re especially proud of?

I’m a member of the company Health & Safety Committee which ensures that the company complies with H&S requirements and have recently gained IOSH Managing Safely Certification.

7. Can you share a memorable experience or story from your time working with the team that you’d like to highlight?

I celebrated my 11th anniversary with Galebreaker Ltd on 21st October 24.

I am the Planning & Efficiency Engineer at Galebreaker, meaning I plan and coordinate large projects, ensure everything is shipped on time and monitor key KPI’s for operations. Within my role, I enjoy finding solutions to challenges such as the short lead times, and I get to work on a large variety of tasks from data analysis to collaboration with the production team. Galebreaker is a really lovely close knit company to work for, I feel fortunate to be part of such a supportive environment.

I achieved a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering at Harper Adams University. I completed my placement year at Galebreaker as a Production Engineer and I have returned after completing my degree. My degree allowed me to develop many skills that have really supported me in my role.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends whether it be catching up in town or going for a run. I am also passionate about cars and often spend my weekends attending car shows. Alongside this, I crochet postbox toppers for my local town. It can be very time consuming, however also very rewarding!

My role within Galebreaker is Accounts Assistant, focussing on Purchase Ledger. This involves processing invoices and expenses and making sure our suppliers are paid on time. I enjoy the fast-paced environment that comes with Finance in order to meet the hard deadlines set. I really enjoy the culture of Galebreaker and the emphasis put on the connections with your colleagues.

I studied German and Italian at Cardiff University and went on to do a Masters in Italian Translation. After graduation I found a job within finance and have been working in this sector ever since. Last year I took a career break and spent 3 months in Italy teaching English in primary schools. It was a very rewarding experience and something I will never forget. I was born in Italy but grew up in Hereford, so it gave me the opportunity to not only practice my language skills but catch up on the authentic pasta and pizza that I missed out on growing up in the UK.

In my spare time I enjoy weightlifting, with the hope to one day compete in a Bodybuilding Competition.

My Name is Nicki, I am the Management Accountant at Galebreaker. 

I enjoy the challenges that come along within Finance such as deadlines and process improvements. 

I am currently involved in the new ERP process – I am very excited about this as this will help with the future growth of Galebreaker and will streamline many of our current processes.

I studied CIMA later in life and qualified in Nov 2019, it was a huge challenge for me as an older student and with work and family commitments, but extremely happy that I chose to complete it.

My strongest skill within my career has always been controls and process improvements. I love the feeling of satisfaction when something new works out for the better for the whole team and everyone feels the benefits.

After working for SPX and retiring from that company, friends in the industry referred me as a consultant. Thus, I became involved with a power station in Long Island, NY where they had vibration and were breaking fan blades from day 1 of startup.

The project was called Caithness and their problem was with an 18 module ACC. The equipment and power station was under warranty which added to the drama and problems. The fan salespeople trusted me and told their engineering manager to be open with me.

I studied many related papers which led me to Galebreaker. The solutions were collaborated with Jamie Wilde and the customer, Caithness and Siemens. The solution was a motorized rolling screen which was installed in 2012 actually before Hurricane Sandy hit that area. They have not suffered a broken fan blade since. In the spring of 2014, Jamie asked me to represent Galebreaker for the ACC market worldwide.

I have been proud to represent Galebreaker since then as the company has always been responsive, honest, met schedules, and produce a high-quality product. Thank you team!

I enjoy the variety of work that comes with my role. Although I had very little experience in their field initially, I spent two years working in a factory during my twenties which helped me adapt to this environment. Every thing else I’ve learned has been new, and I have enjoyed the new challenges along the way.

I really appreciate the welcoming atmosphere here, and I love that every project feels like a Team effort.

Outside of work I enjoy playing golf on the weekends and short mat bowls. I am proud to have achieved my Advanced Brick Laying Certificate and to have spent 5 years as a Herefordshire County Standard Bearer for the Royal British Legion.

As a slitter I work with precision and high attention to detail. I enjoy the maths element that helps me tackle the every day challenges. I spent 13 years at Doughty Aerospace which gave me an in-depth understanding of technical drawings and intricate details that I apply in my current role.

Outside of work I’m a Manchester United fan, and enjoy watching football when I get the chance. I also love driving my BMW Z4. An interesting fact is that I celebrated my 40th birthday by taking a flying lesson, which was unforgettable.

The thing that enjoy the most about working with my colleagues is the fact that we all get along really well and it makes working together much more enjoyable.

I work with all the information coming into the company such as sales, purchases and efficiency data. My job is very mathematical, but it also has a creative side, as I need to figure out how to present the data in a way that is understandable and not overwhelming.

I take pride in being able to show the end product, knowing that I’ve done a good job and that my work is useful to the Team.

I studied Mechanical Engineering with an automotive specialisation at the University of Bath and I did a placement at BMW in Oxford, focussing on process improvement. When I joined Galebreaker, I initially started in the Engineering Department, but my skills aligned with the IT side, leading me to where I am now.

Outside of work, I’ve always been passionate about sports. I was a county Pool player and I also had the opportunity to be the Deputy Referee at the English National Badminton championship.

One unforgettable experience for me at Galebreaker was meeting most of the Suppliers and Dealers at the local Local Rugby Club as part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations.

What I really enjoy about working with my colleagues is the family atmosphere. I never feel scared to ask anyone for anything, and it makes the workplace feel supportive and welcoming.

I’m the Animal Welfare Specialist at Galebreaker. What I enjoy most about my role is the ability to directly impact livestock health and welfare, especially through focusing on housing and ventilation. I love working on projects that not only improve welfare but also bring long-term benefits to farmers in terms of productivity and sustainability. A happy, healthy animal is a more productive and sustainable animal!

I joined Galebreaker in September 2024, bringing my background in Bioveterinary Science from Harper Adams University. My academic journey has provided me with the scientific understanding of animal health and welfare, and it’s been key in helping me drive meaningful change for livestock through innovative solutions.

Currently, I’m particularly excited about our calf housing solution. Calves have often been housed in poor conditions, and they are becoming a higher priority on farms. This project holds great potential for improving their welfare and ensuring better long-term outcomes for both the animals and the farming operations.

The thing I love most about working at Galebreaker is the collaborative approach across departments. There’s a great sense of teamwork, and I appreciate how everyone is driven by a shared passion for improving animal welfare and advancing sustainable farming practices.

Outside of work, I enjoy running and have just completed my first marathon. I’m always looking for new challenges to push my limits. I also love hiking and exploring the outdoors, along with riding and eventing my horse.
